Novice and Amateur Photographers will both benefit from The Safari because it's a combination rescue mission and artistic retreat. It's for those who are mystified by the programming options on their camera. This weekend will decode the symbols and explain the ever elusive "why?" For those who know their cameras already, this weekend will inspire you to take better photographs, and equip you with the tools and knowledge necessary to do so. This course is for people who want to do photography for the joy of it.
Reading books and taking courses are important, but using your camera regularly is the most important way to improve. You will lose your ability to make good photographs if you're not constantly using your camera. Your ability to visualize will stagnate. The same can be said for using your computer. If your only use your computer programs periodically your ability to remember how the computer programs work is greatly diminished. Today's cameras are very sophisticated compact computers.
A Digital SLR Camera is strongly recommended. A laptop and cable for downloading photos are beneficial, but not necessary. Other supplies include a tripod, mosquito repellent, cable release, USB flash drive & notebook. Also important is a change of clothes and a sense of humour.
